Symbol of America’s Freedom under attack….
In my daily search for information, I came across an article on Mustangs. I feel so passionate about the issue that I’ve bought you the link today instead of waiting for a collection of links. For the rest of the week, I’ll be throwing out different facets or problems the Mustangs face. Here’s a little background on Mustangs.
Mustangs are considered “feral horses”, often called wild horses, just like the Przewalski horses. I wrote and provide a link about a Przewalski horse named Minnesota in my post on the 24th of June. Check it out for parallel to Mustangs.
Mustangs are managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The BLM has evolved several methods of keeping the Mustang populations low. One of the most abhorrent is sending the Mustangs to auction, which in turn, often, ends with the slaughter of the horses for meat. Naturally, this came to an end as people found out about it. An evolution of the same strategy calls for euthanizing horses that meet certain criteria. This bill is waiting for approval in congress.
